About the Wartime Vessels Association

We are a Community Interest Company run by volunteer custodians, directors, and friends who believe that wartime maritime service should be honoured through living vessels, open archives, and practical support.

Three tides of purpose

  • Archive & record: digitising official papers, oral histories, and crew lists.
  • Fleet gatherings: connecting crews, owners, and volunteers for maintenance weekends.
  • Custodian care: providing advice, micro-grants, and camaraderie for people keeping boats afloat.

Board & members

Director members steward governance, compliance, safeguarding, and grant approvals. Heritage, Custodian, and Friend members contribute research, practical restoration skills, or moral support. Membership is free; the only requirement is a commitment to community benefit.
